So, I Haven't Mentioned This Yet...
A big job has been lurking in the background and I took the 331G John Deere track loader to work on it in my spare time. But the track loader has let me down but now it's time to do something about it.

We're Ready For Something Different

It has looked the same around our house for 22 years and we finally decided it was time to change up our landscaping. We switched from mulch to decorative river rock around our house hoping that it would be less maintenance and wouldn't need refreshed every year.

4 steps to making a cleaner and safer pond for swimming. In this video we install an aerator to help keep the water oxygenated and evenly mixed. We use a natural beneficial bacteria product called a Biosphere to help combat algae. Then we put in some black/blue dye to help keep the sunlight from penetrating the water surface and finally, we use a really nice net to help keep organic matter off ...
Sometimes The Problem Isn't Obvious

We had a problem at work that was years in the making. A plugged catch basin tile was causing the driveway to flood every time it rained. We thought we would discover a drain pipe that was plugged up but what may have been wrong was not obvious. We came up with a solution despite not discovering what was wrong.

Add up the your time lost stopping, resetting and starting again and the replacement part is cheap. Yes it stings the wallet but you’re back home to the wife and kids sooner with the job completed.

I guess I'm too old, but I can't stand all the electronic and safety devices on new equipment. Maybe it's the manufacturers' liability concerns or government regulations, but whatever happened to using common sense when operating equipment as opposed to depending on some complicated, expensive device that will eventually malfunction. As far as diesel engines, govt. regulations have severely affected their performance and reliability. And now the darn things require weasel piss to run. I miss my old ford truck with the 6.9L turbo charged International diesel. I should have kept it. Sorry for the rant, I guess I'm just a dinosaur.

Boy, that skid loader sure got hit by the 'bad joojoo stick'!!!! Not sure if anyone else suggested it,(haven't had time to scan all the comments) but maybe give Tim a call over at Tractor Time With Tim. He's not too far from you and he seems to have a lot of connections that could be beneficial in finding a Harley Rake to borrow/ rent (reasonably). Those things are magical when it comes to lumpy dirt. Good Luck Neil & Happy Trails!

Neil save that old joystick more then likely a cracked solder joint in the circuit board. We send our electronic actuators and shifters to Global electronics services inc in Georgia. They might be able to repair and you'll have a spare joystick.

So my father passed away in April, and he had a Kubota, a small one, and he wasn't well and in his normal state of mind, and he left it sit outside even though, he could have made room in his shop. It cost over 6K to fix the 3 point among a bunch of other things. Those machines are expensive. Glad you got it fixed. So frustrating.

Vinegar is better than WD-40 for eating rust. I use a 1:1 ratio of water and vinegar soak when restoring old rusty cast iron. White vinegar is much cheaper than WD-40 any way you look at it. I hope this helps.

One thing about the DEF system, once you open a jug of DEF use it all and if you can’t don’t save it it will start to crystallize and if you put that into your tank later it can mess up your DEF system and that’s a costly expense as well!!

I had to sell my JD 4440 because they wanted as much for a hydraulic as I paid for the entire machine, so I feel ya! With those old rusty tools, you can get a parts washer at Harbor Freight for a 150 bucks that'll take the rust clean off those old tools!

By definition, if it’s used SOMETHING is wrong or about to go wrong, and the seller may or may not be aware of it. It is not possible to buy a “new” used piece of equipment.

Neil you should take a look at older New Holland skid steer. A C200 would make a great track loader and won’t require DEF and parts cross reference with the Case Construction brand so if you have a Case IH dealer nearby they can usually get you no problem parts. Also the machine is easier to work on.

  • @goptools
    @goptools 12 годин тому

Hi Neil. I think you have to trust your gut when it comes to deciding if the seller was dishonest or not. The machine is sold now so he could have said that they were having trouble with it, if that were the case. Unfortunate that it is such an expensive part but, on the bright side, you didn't buy a cheap imported, imitation part for say $500 and find that it too failed after a week. Hopefully, you will end up with a nice paint job on the F750 after you are all finished!

My rule of thumb and situations like you have had with the tractor First question did you buy the tractor $2000 or more below it actual value If everything works. If you did You should buy the part and install at your essence and not bother the people that sold it. If you paid more money than the actual value of the track is I would ask the sellers To allow you to return it Or pay for the repairs. If you bought it like a thousand dollars below the value of a working tractor, I would ask the sellers to pay for the amount that above Is actual value. Most states have a lemon law And this is pretty much how they do it. In my experience, good honest people selling stuff. We'll volunteer to do things exactly. As I have described them without you actually having to ask them as long as you state the facts to them. Only a con man will argue in fight with you on it And these were the people you want to try and get a refund from and get away from them.
